About the Gospel on a Business Card

The goal of the Gospel Card is to summarize the gospel in such a way that it:
  • fits on a business card and can be easy to read
  • is easy for anyone, religious or not, to understand
  • does not quote the Bible or use religious language
  • covers the essential message of the gospel
I don't claim the wording to be unique - do a Google search on any phrase, and you'll see that for yourself. The words I use reflect my experiences growing up in the church and finding my freedom in Christ later in life. The card reflects a lifetime of exposure to the Bible, as well as multiple readings of The Purpose Driven Life by pastor Rick Warren, which was instrumental in opening my eyes to the life-changing truths of the gospel.

This blog exists to unpack the 32 words that give a very brief, concise, and (I hope) powerful summary of the good news that God really does love us and wants us to receive healing for our broken lives.

The front of the card is meant to be read to others or left with this side up when you dine out, etc.
God knows everything about you
- and He still loves you.
He planned you and made you.
He knows how broken you are.
He wants to heal you
 and give you new life.
On the back is the same thing made even more personal as a set of affirmations:
God knows everything about me
- and He still loves me.
He planned me and made me.
He knows how broken I am.
He wants to heal me
 and give me new life.
My plan is to make the business card available as a PDF file so anyone can print their own. I will also be looking into have these printed on both regular business card stock and also laminated stock. I am working on wallpaper with the affirmations for the iPhone (prior to the iPhone 5) and have it available for download. I suggest you use this as your lock screen instead of as a wallpaper. That way you'll see it every time you turn on your iPhone.
